Obituary: Edward Aronow

Edward Aronow, of Verona, died on March 13 in Mountainside Hospital.
Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Aronow moved to Queens as a child.
He attended Queens College, then Fordham University, where he received his doctorate in clinical psychology.
As a teenager, Mr. Aronow spent six months on a kibbutz in Israel, which solidified his lifelong support of the Jewish people and the State of Israel. He was a noted Rorschach expert, having written several books on the subject, as well as numerous scientific journal articles.
Mr. Aronow was a professor of psychology at Montclair State University from 1972 to 2011, and a clinical psychologist in private practice for close to 30 years. Through the years, he had offices in Montclair, Cedar Grove and Verona.
Mr. Aronow is survived by his wife, Anna Aronow; his son, David and his wife, Sarah; his daughter Rebecca and her husband, Chris; his stepson Mike and his partner, Paulina; his stepdaughter Daria and her husband, Greg; and his nine grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Ben, Emily, Jon, Matt, Dexter, Duncan, Nell, Mia, and Freya.
After a memorial service in Livingston on March 18, his family traveled to Pennsylvania to scatter the ashes near the lake house he loved to visit.
